I just finished these hand painted Beachy Christmas stockings in natural canvas.
I created these designs in 2011 and they became very popular so I added lots
more designs to my coastal stockings over the years as shown in photo below.
Update! As of 2015 I'm no longer making the stockings, thank
you for all your past orders!

I also made a pair in red and white.
I started with plain canvas stockings. When painting don't forget to put a
plastic bag on the inside in case any paint seeps through.
Starfish...
I've done many projects where I paint on fabric
and I use the same technique on these stockings.
Sea turtle stocking.
To create my designs, I lightly drew an outline of my placement for the main design
with white chalk then painted. The chalk is covered by the paint but if any chalk remains,
I use a dry Mr. Clean magic eraser and it easily wipes off.
All of these designs are nothing more than a series of dots.
I use the end of different size paintbrushes to make the dots...
Fish stocking.

for the backs I applied white dots in a random pattern and
signed them at the bottom
For the red starfish I used a paintbrush...

Here are a few more painted stockings I've made in the past.
On these I painted the entire background
of the stockings as well as the designs
