Hand Painted Whimsical Love Bird Tray

I had a custom request for a hand painted tray depicting love birds

with special words and colors chosen by my client.

I started with a plain wooden tray

My client said she brings her husband breakfast in bed every morning

and she wanted a special tray for their daily ritual.

How sweet and romantic is that?

Here I've basecoated, painted the background with diamonds and swirls

and added the birds on a branch.

She asked me to include these words on the tray,

"Good Morning Honey, guess what we get to do today?"

The answer being...we get to be together :)

I gave the bottom and sides a color paint treatment as well.

I added dots and stripes to the sides

Sweet love birds....

It was so much fun creating something so unique and meaningful for this couple
