Update as of Spring 2016, I'm no longer making the dragonflies.
I sincerely appreciate all the past orders, thank you!
Please visit my new online shop featuring my coastal and
nature themed mosaics.
Here's a dragonfly I made a while back with seashell wings and I
never wrote a post about it but wanted to share with you...
I added a shell finial at the bottom by drilling a small hole in the shell
and attaching with a screw
I used ceramic tile adhesive to attach the shells
I used a fun metal piece for the eyes and brick tie antenna...
I get lots of emails and questions about how I attach the wings so here's
a photo of the back. I use screws, predrill your holes! Depending on your
table leg or spindle, you just have to play around with placement of the wings
in order to have 2 screws per wing.
Thanks for stopping by!
I still have items and reduced original paintings in my Etsy shop as well.
Again amazed... Shaking my head ....as I live in a coastal/ beach town and this would FLY off the shelf! Gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhere do u find the flex all??
ReplyDeleteI get Flex All at home depot
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THESE!!! Lucy I do mosaics and was wondering if I could use this on clay pots and then paint over the flexall?? Do you have to seal the wood prior to applying the flexall? Tracy
ReplyDeleteHi Tracy, I'm not sure how Flexall will adhere to a clay pot. Unless you have a supply of Flexall already, it's been discontinued, didn't know if you knew! I've been experimenting with different options since they no longer carry the Flexall in the the green and yellow bucket
DeleteWhat kind of hanger is this you used? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI use D-ring hangers
