Update as of Spring 2016, I'm no longer making the dragonflies.
I sincerely appreciate all the past orders, thank you!
Please visit my new online shop featuring my coastal and
nature themed mosaics.
I used to make dragonflies long before I first blogged about them
and would use wire for the wing shape and cover with window screen
and attach beads or glue painted canvas to the wire wing form.
I don't have an instructional but I made the wings with thick wire,
then filled the insides of the wings with thinner wire and glass beads.
Update! There is now a tutorial for the beaded wing dragonfly!
There's no real method to the bead placement,
I kind of add them in a random pattern.
Copper wire antenna and metal pieces for the eyes...
Please...no more emails telling me dragonflies don't have antenna!
These are whimsical creations and I added big swirly antenna to some of them. 😃
He has a pretty turquoise blue body...
I also added a metal piece at the tail for a pop of color, believe it is a
washing machine hose clamp.
This style is quite a bit more time consuming to make but
he turned out great.
I still have some items in my Etsy shop as well.
Thanks for stopping by!

I've moved to Lucydesignsart.com to focus on my mosaic art. I'm no longer creating dragonflies or mermaids.
