Update as of Spring 2016, I'm no longer making the dragonflies.
I sincerely appreciate all the past orders, thank you!
Please visit my new online shop featuring my coastal and
nature themed mosaics.
Latest three butterflies.
This one in a black and white checked pattern
Black glass bead eyes and tiny little red glass beads on the ends of the antenna
All hand painted...
I used a chair leg for his body.
This pretty blue one is so fun!
A table leg for the body painted black...
hand painted turquoise blue wings with black and white accents...
And blue glass bead eyes.
I love this one. I used Flexall to make the textural design
on the wings, then painted with a copper verdigris finish.
Remember when I cut all these chairs apart?
You can read more about it Here. I used one of those chair backs for this butterfly's body.
I love the curvy shape of it.
I added a vintage door knob plate for extra decoration .
I used an aged metal drawer pull for the eyes and curly wire antenna.
You can see more of the texture on the wings in this photo...
Look on the Flexall heading under categories for more ways that
I use this.
The paint lands in the crevices of the texture and makes it really stand out.
Thanks for checking out the new butterflies!
I still have items and reduced original paintings in my Etsy shop as well.
