My latest dog bed...
I'm calling it a Beach Cabana design
Update 2014 I'm no longer creating the dog beds and
they are completely sold out. Thank you for your past
support and purchases.
Visit my new online shop featuring my mosaic art.
Thank you!
When I first I started making dog beds, I re-purposed end tables.
You can click the "Dog Bed" category to see all of them.
When I started selling more and more dog beds, the inconsistencies in the sizes
and weights of the end tables made shipping very inefficient.
I decided that building my own bases would be the best way to go.
For this one, I started with the solid wood base and added cream and warm yellow stripes
and wooden bun feet also painted in cream...
I added wooden shell and starfish cutouts to the front.
I painted them cream then washed with brown to bring out the detail.
The headboard is made from a skimboard that I painted in the same colors.
I hand cut a large starfish shape and added texture with Flexall.
The painted design wraps all the way around.
I painted the inside in a soft blue with sheer white dots...
All the cushions are hand made by me in coordinating, fun fabrics.
It has a soft bottom cushion and three long ones that wrap around the edges
so your dog is super comfy. Three small pillows are along the back...
I love all the combos of textures and patterns
I made the large bottom cushion with an envelope style removable cover so it's
washable on gentle cycle and hang to dry.
I love how it turned out.
The skimboard headboard removes for shipping and is easily
reattached using three screws in predrilled holes
Thanks so much for stopping by!
